Leroy Sane’s next transfer move could prove to be problematic for Celtic amid fans’ worry

Celtic are yet to make any moves as the 2025 summer transfer window reopens on June 16.

Many fans would have seen the summer transfer window open for a short period of time on June 1 and then close on June 10.

That’s to accommodate clubs participating in the upcoming Club World Cup, and one of those teams includes German giants Bayern Munich.

Celtic faced Bayern in the Champions League during the recently concluded season, and they were knocked out of the play-off stages.

One man who is expected to head for the exit door of Vincent Kompany’s side is star winger Leroy Sane.

The German international’s contract expires at the end of the month, and his next transfer could have a bearing on Celtic.

Will Leroy Sane join Galatasaray or Fenerbahce?

There are several clubs interested in Sane, including Turkey’s top two – Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.

Many would have seen Daizen Maeda being linked with Fenerbahce, so if Jose Mourinho’s side sign Sane, then you can rule out Celtic’s star man leaving.

That’s because Sane operates on the left wing, and a place Maeda usually occupies, but it seems as though that move isn’t going to happen.

On Wednesday morning, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared that ‘Sane will become a Galatasaray player on a contract until June 2028’, so it’s not good news for Celtic Park faithful because it keeps that Fenerbahce door open.

The latest on Fenerbahce’s transfer interest in Celtic’s Daizen Maeda?

Of course, Celtic fans have every right to wonder why Maeda would want to join Fenerbahce, but money talks.

Those making the calls at the top have proven time and time again that if money is put on the table, then ‘x’ player does leave.

The latest transfer reports – Sozcu – from Turkey suggest that Fenerbahce will ‘play all their cards’ to try and sign Maeda, despite a ‘£25 million’ starting transfer fee being put on his head and interest from Tottenham.
