Transfer deadline day was an extremely disappointing one for Celtic.
On a day that promised so much, only one player joined as Sebastian Tounekti was confirmed late on.
Celtic are in talks with Kelechi Iheanacho after Sevilla cancelled his contract to allow the Hoops to complete the deal after yesterday’s 11pm deadline, but there are more questions than answers for Brendan Rodgers.
The Hoops missed out on a number of targets throughout the day as Kasper Dolberg preferred Ajax and David Datro Fofana wanted to go to Charlton Athletic, only for the deal to break down.
Adam Idah was the highest profile departure and leaves Celtic a striker down, despite Rodgers wanting a minimum of two through the door.
Frustrations have crept in from supporters but the club can save themselves by dipping into the free agents market to fill the void.
With that, here are three free agents Celtic should be looking at.

Paco Alcacer
Celtic need a quick fix up top and Paco Alcacer could offer that. At the age of 32, the Spaniard isn’t going to be a long-term solution, but the forward has been a prolific goalscorer throughout his career.
Alcacer has played for the likes of Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund but his last club were based in the United Arab Emirates.
While it might be an understandable drop in quality, Alcacer still has what it takes to get Celtic through to January at least.
Patrick Bamford
Deemed surplus to requirements, Patrick Bamford was released by Leeds United in a bid to find regular game time elsewhere.
Championship clubs had sniffed around Bamford but nothing had come to avail, leaving him without a club.
His injury record is a slight concern, but when on form, he can cause havoc for defenders and wouldn’t be the worst option to bolster Rodgers’ squad.
Vincent Aboubakar
Young strikers who are free agents are hard to come by and with the current attacking options at Celtic largely young players, a player who has done it all will be the perfect mentor.
Vincent Aboubakar has a wealth of experience across the various European leagues and even played alongside some star-studded players at Al Nassr.
The Cameroonian is 33, so would only need to come in for a year at most, but his goal record of 171 in over 400 games is a positive and perhaps more excitingly, his record has got better with age.
