Adam Idah situation deteriorates at Norwich City as Celtic target faces fan boos on return to team

Adam Idah came off the bench for Norwich City in their home friendly defeat to St Pauli on Saturday but didn’t receive the warmest of welcomes.

Idah has been pursued as a Celtic transfer target all summer after a successful loan spell in Scotland last season.

The striker netted nine crucial goals for the double winners, cementing himself as a fan favourite and popular member of the dressing room.

It’s reported he is keen on returning to Glasgow and has publicly asserted his relationship with the Bhoys on social media while the speculation rumbles on.

Idah was disciplined by his Norwich boss Johannes Hoff Thorup after turning up late to the squad on a pre-season trip last month but was back involved in the team today. However, it seems his situation at the Canaries is far from blossoming.

Adam Idah’s relationship with Norwich takes a new turn

Local outlet The Pink Un reported a ‘pocket of boos’ at Carrow Road when he was introduced as a second-half substitute on their live match blog.

After the 3-1 defeat to the Germans, the same source reported on social media that Idah was the only Norwich player not to stay and applaud the supporters after the full-time whistle, instead heading straight up the tunnel.

Something will have to give in the coming weeks to resolve his situation. Latest reports indicate Celtic will return with another bid.

Time for Celtic to make their Idah move

Given everything that’s gone on, Norwich may be more willing to do business this time around although do have him on a long-term contract and have a set value for his departure.

It’s time for Celtic to make a definitive move and bring him back to the Bhoys where he has the potential to flourish and kick on to new heights.

As this rumbles on, no one is benefitting. Not Idah, not Norwich and not Celtic.
