Alexandro Bernabei joined Internacional on a permanent basis after being on-loan at the Brazil giants after falling down the pecking order at Celtic.
The 24-year-old moved to Glasgow from Club Atlético Lanus in 2022 when Ange Postecoglou was in charge, but he couldn’t get going.
Despite Celtic’s huge success under Postecoglou, and then Brendan Rodgers winning the double upon his return to the club, fans in Parkhead never got to see the best of Bernabei, so his exit was expected.
Greg Taylor remained Celtic’s starter, without any real competition, before Rodgers added rising Spanish star, Alex Valle to the club on a loan deal from Barcelona this summer.
That opened the door for Bernabei to leave and move back to South America on a loan deal, and it has gone pretty well for the left-back.

This is a move that suits all parties, as Celtic have made a profit from Bernabei’s sale to Internacional, after his £5 million transfer, according to Sky Sports journalist, Anthony Joseph on Twitter.
The player himself took to his Instagram story to react to his move and it’s fair to say that he was pleased.
Bernabei had a big smile on his face and stated that he is ‘happy’ with the move.
“Happy to belong to such a great club,” wrote Bernabei on IG.

Of course, with Bernabei going and talk of Valle’s loan being cut short, then it further opens the door for the signing every Celtic fan wants.
