The Celtic boss was let down by a number of players in the draw against Dundee at Dens Park.
The Bhoys had to battle for a point against Dundee after being in the driving seat for a game that must have had Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers pulling his hair out.
Defensive mistakes by Auston Trusty cost Celtic two goals as the US defender was bullied off the ball by Dundee’s players despite the Parkhead club taking the lead twice in the game.
Goals from Celtic midfielder Luke McCowan, Hyunjun Yang and Arne Engels rescued Rodgers from an embarrassing defeat to a Dundee side who had seven first-team players out injured.
However, speaking before the game, Sky Sports’ Kris Boyd warned Brendan Rodgers that there is a player within his ranks that he must not ‘underestimate’ as his contract situation continues to rumble on.

Greg Taylor’s contract situation at Celtic is ‘a strange one’
Greg Taylor has fought off every left back that has been brought to Celtic since he joined the club back in 2019.
Brought in as Kieran Tierney’s replacement, Taylor has been unjustly compared to the Arsenal defender for much of his Celtic career but Kris Boyd reckons that as his contract runs down, Rodgers is in danger of ‘underestimating’ just how much the Scotland defender brings to the team.
Boyd told Sky Sports, “I think it’s a strange one, to be honest. [Taylor’s contract situation]
“There’s no doubt that when he first came to Celtic, you probably looked at Greg Taylor and thought he’d come in as a squad player and see where that takes him.
“It’s took him to the top because he has been a regular for Celtic for a number of years now.”
Celtic told underappreciated Greg Taylor ‘always turns up for his work’
“Listen, he gets criticism,” continues Boyd, “And we all go through periods in the area of time when you know it’s the right thing to criticise people.
“I think a lot of times it’s unjust with Greg Taylor for what he brings to that team and I tell you another thing is, he churns out the games, he turns up for his work and don’t underestimate that because there’s a lot of players that are never available.
“Greg Taylor turns up for his work every single day, trains properly and that was one thing that stood out for me even when he was a young kid, every single day.
“It didn’t matter whatever exercise that you were doing as a coach, he put every single last drop of effort into that.
“When he came off the training field, he knew exactly that he had worked his socks off.”
Taylor has won every domestic honour at Celtic which includes winning three domestic trebles. With ten winners medals to his name, Taylor has been central to adding to Celtic’s trophy history over his five years at the club.
Out of contract at the end of May, there is no indication of whether Taylor is close to signing a new deal as rumours surrounding Tierney’s potential return to Celtic continue to circulate.
Hopefully the Scotland fullback will put pen to paper on a new deal otherwise Celtic may well have to cut their losses and sell in January or risk losing a player who is entering the prime years of his career for free.
