Celtic are in the transfer window end game, with Brendan Rodgers now keen to secure one or two arrivals before the deadline tonight.
Nicolas Kuhn arrived from Rapid Vienna last month for a fee in the region of £3 million and made his debut for the Hoops against Ross County last weekend in a 1-0 victory.
In truth, the narrow victory against the Staggies was a wake-up call because Brendan Rodgers’ men were nowhere near their free-flowing best.
By the same token, there weren’t many game-changing options on the substitute bench as the Bhoys failed to put proceedings beyond doubt.
With the deadline fast approaching, Norwich City forward Adam Idah has arrived in Glasgow and will join on a loan deal until the end of the campaign, which will give Rodgers some much-needed support for Kyogo Furuhashi in attack.
Greg Taylor has also been ruled out with a calf strain for a ‘few weeks’, signifying that acquiring cover at left-back will be a priority pursuit before 11.30 pm tonight.
Anthony Joseph drops significant update in Celtic left-back hunt
In the final stages of market activity, Celtic are continuously working on bringing in a left-back after Idah’s deal is finalised [Football Scotland].
Reports emerged late last night claiming that Paris Saint-Germain defender Layvin Kurzawa and Wolverhampton Wanderers star Hugo Bueno are among the names in contention to fill the role.

Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph has now moved to deliver a significant update on the status of both players, firstly stating that the Hoops have been ‘knocked back’ in an approach for Bueno.
Taking to social media platform X, he also added that any deal for Kurzawa could be a ‘difficult’ one to pull off as Paris Saint-Germain want his wages covered in full coupled with a significant fee to sanction his exit.
Celtic look to end the transfer window on a high note
Late excitement or disappointment could be in store for Celtic supporters today; however, it is still unclear which feeling will be more prevalent come 11.30 pm.
The Hoops are firmly in a battle to win the Scottish Premiership title and need to bulk out their squad to compensate for potential injuries in what will be a congested league run-in.
Nevertheless, temporary loan deals look to be the point of focus for Rodgers in his hunt for additional bodies, which is a strategy that isn’t exactly risk-averse given most targets will be players that clubs are aiming to shift off the books.
Either way, there is still potential for some late movement into the club if they can act swiftly to conclude business.
