Lech Poznań have had months to make up their minds about Luis Palma.

The Polish champions have watched the Celtic winger up close, seen his form improve and publicly expressed their admiration for him.

Yet despite all that, Palma’s future remains unresolved.

That may not be the case for much longer.

Celtic have watched Luis Palma rebuild his value

Not too long ago, Palma’s future appeared relatively straightforward.

The winger was struggling to establish himself as a regular starter at Celtic under Brendan Rodgers and a permanent departure looked the most likely outcome.

Since moving to Poland, however, the conversation has changed.

Palma’s performances have reportedly improved in recent weeks, helping to rebuild confidence around a player who still possesses the attacking qualities that convinced Celtic to bring him to Glasgow in the first place.

That resurgence has been important.

Rather than searching for a solution, Celtic now find themselves in a position where there appears to be genuine interest in securing the 26-year-old’s services permanently.

With reports also linking Palma with interest elsewhere, the Scottish champions have little reason to rush into a compromise that does not suit them.

Celtic’s reported deadline puts the pressure on Poznań

That is why the latest update feels significant.

According to Diez from Honduras, Poznań have until June 8 to decide whether they will activate the reported €4 million option included in Palma’s loan agreement.

For months, Poznań have had the luxury of assessing the player while discussions continued in the background. Now the responsibility appears to sit firmly with them.

Celtic are preparing for another important summer and there is little value in allowing uncertainty to drag on indefinitely.

What makes the situation particularly intriguing is that Poznań know exactly what they are buying. They have seen Palma up close, watched him perform in their colours and publicly acknowledged his qualities.

That is why the coming days could prove decisive.

Celtic’s stance suggests they are looking for clarity. Poznań now have the opportunity to provide it. After months of interest and negotiations, the ball appears to be firmly in their court.
