More heat is now being generated in the summer transfer window for Celtic.
The 2025 summer transfer window officially opened on June 16, and since then, Celtic have added two new faces to their squad.
Kieran Tierney has returned to his boyhood club, as Ross Doohan has continued the comeback story, because he re-joined from Aberdeen.
That now means that Brendan Rodgers has three senior goalkeepers to pick from, after Scott Bain left the club and joined newly-promoted Falkirk.
With Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo already through the doors and comfortable in their seats, you wonder what this means for Doohan and what role he will play, because he is sounding confident.

The ‘difficult’ task facing Ross Doohan after his Celtic return
Doohan was upbeat in his interview, and how he has joined Celtic, not to make up the numbers, but to play and earn starts.
Gordon Dalziel admitted that he appreciates the 27-year-old for backing himself, but made it clear that he can’t be ‘kidded here’ because he has two top keepers in front of him.
Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Dalziel thinks Doohan will prove to be a ‘good backup’ and that he will need ‘a bit of luck’ to push ahead of Schmeichel or Sinisalo.
“He has got a difficult job,” said Dalziel. “Let’s not be kidded here. I like the way he spoke there. I think you have to back yourself and have a bit of confidence.
“He will need a bit of luck because he does have two quality goalkeepers in front of him, but I think it’s a great move for him. He is 27. He has been out there at Aberdeen. Didn’t play a lot at Aberdeen.
“But it’s an opportunity for him now to come back and, as he said, he likes working under Steve Woods. He knows the club. He knows everything about it. He knows the standards, and I think he will be a good backup.
“But he is sounding like he is up for a challenge, and I said earlier, let’s not be kidded here, and he will know that, it’s a difficult challenge because that’s two quality goalkeepers in front of you.
“Listen, he has taken on that challenge, and that’s what I like about it.”
Doohan’s Scotland chances
Before re-joining Celtic, Doohan made his Scotland debut against Liechtenstein, after not originally being in Steve Clarke’s plans.
Scotland are suffering in the goalkeeper department, with a host of players injured or just not playing on a regular basis.
Even though the 2026 World Cup is around the corner, and Scotland will want to qualify, Dalziel feels that’s the last thing on Doohan’s mind.
“I don’t think he will be concentrating, right now, totally on the Scotland squad,” added Dalziel.
“As much as it’s a big boost for him to get in there and get a cap under his belt. I think what he looks at is domestic football. His club football. He is at a massive club again. The standards are so high.
“See, when you work with these guys, and you watch how they operate on the training ground as well, it rubs off on you, so it will make him a better goalkeeper as well. He is at a good age. He still has a lot, a lot of football in him, but he will need a bit of luck because he has two terrific goalkeepers in front of him.”
