Sassuolo have become the latest club to open talks with Celtic target and Hellas Verona striker Kieron Bowie.
Celtic have been long-term admirers of Bowie and that interest has not waned even after he made the switch from Scotland to Italy.
But now, after Verona’s relegation from Serie A, Bowie appears to be on the move this summer as more clubs from Italy’s top-flight start to show concrete interest in the 23-year-old Scotland international.
Kieron Bowie to Celtic… yes or no?
Celtic’s position for Kieron Bowie has weakened
Celtic’s initial interest in Bowie began back in September 2025 as the young striker impressed in his maiden season at Hibs.
Verona slapped a £10m price tag on Bowie this summer as more clubs started to show interest in the young Scot.
As the summer progressed, Cagliari made their interest known with Bologna also pushing to sign Bowie as clubs from the Bundesliga also started sniffing around.
Serie A clubs are making the first move for Bowie
The Daily Record reports that Sassuolo don’t just admire Bowie, they have joined Bologna in opening talks to buy the striker.
Celtic have not even begun negotiations to talk to Bowie yet. As the Parkhead club sit on their hands, the hopes of landing the former Hibs man diminish with each passing day.
The more clubs that enter the race, the less likely Celtic are to dictate terms if they decide to revive their interest.
