There have been some interesting noises coming out of Hearts of late.
Hearts’ new investor, Tony Bloom, is aiming for the stars, as he wants to try and stop Celtic and Rangers from always being the top two in Scotland.
Over the last 20-odd years, Celtic have been the dominant side, so never mind the Jambos trying to do anything of note, even Rangers are struggling.
But that doesn’t mean that Bloom shouldn’t try, or that he can’t be a success, because he has masterminded Brighton’s rise in English football, and into Europe.
Either way, Bloom’s investment and entry into Scottish football have got many people talking.

Celtic backed to make ‘£10 million’ signing amid Tony Bloom’s investment in Hearts
Given that Celtic clean house season in and season out on the domestic scene, added with the Champions League money, and the fact that they recruit so well.
Then it puts them in a powerful position financially, and Cillian Sheridan wanted to highlight that on BBC Radio Scotland when talking about Hearts’ new investor.
Sheridan thinks Celtic will ‘go and buy’ a player for ‘£10 million’ this summer, and it proves the financial gulf between the two clubs, even with Bloom coming in.
“Celtic and Rangers will be doing something similar themselves,” said Sheridan. “I think there’s maybe too much excitement about how much of a difference it’s going to make.
“£9m or £10m. I don’t think that’s going to challenge Celtic or Rangers. Celtic could go and buy, and I would imagine they probably will, one player in a transfer in the region of that.
“It might elevate Hearts above the rest of the pack, but I don’t think it’s enough to challenge the [top] two, really.”
Scottish Premiership title winners outside of Celtic and Rangers
Celtic have won 14 out of the last 15 titles, and it puts the Hoops level with Rangers on 55 Premiership crowns each, ahead of the new campaign.
But the last time somebody outside of the Glasgow duo lifted the main crown was in 1985 when Sir Alex Ferguson’s Aberdeen triumphed above everyone else.
And in the history of Scottish football, especially in the modern era, not many outside of Celtic and Rangers have had much to shout about.
