Celtic are expected to offload a number of first-team outcasts this summer.

Sky Sports reported in May that Stephen Welsh, Luis Palma, Kwon Hyeok-kyu and Marco Tilio will be transfer listed by the Hoops.

Gustaf Lagerbielke will be no different, despite being seen in Celtic’s footage of the first day of pre-season at Lennoxtown on Friday.

SC Braga have submitted a £1.7m bid for Lagerbielke, according to Fabrizio Romano, and it is said the player is keen on moving to Portugal.

Now, the Portuguese press have delivered a couple more details.

Lagerbielke to be offered ‘three to four-year’ SC Braga deal

It is being claimed by A BOLA that transfer talks between Celtic and Braga are ‘well underway’ and that Lagerbielke will be offered a three or four-year contract.

That is an attractive offer for the Swedish central defender, who desperately needs a new home having been bombed out of the Celtic team by Brendan Rodgers.

Rodgers was the man who signed Lagerbielke in the summer of 2023 for £3m, but it’s proven to be a complete waste of money.

His best moment in a Celtic shirt was scoring the winner in a Champions League group stage clash against Feyenoord at Parkhead.

But that failed to propel his stuttering stint in Glasgow, and he eventually went on loan to FC Twente for the whole of last season.

The former IF Elfsborg defender was surplus to requirements last season in the eyes of Rodgers, the same for the likes of Tilio and Kwon as mentioned above.

Lagerbielke enjoyed a fairly good season with FC Twente and said he felt ‘pride and joy’ every time he represented the Dutch club.

He was a regular in the team as the club finished 6th in the Eredivisie, 10 points behind a European qualification spot.
