Celtic’s 2023 summer transfer window gets worse and worse.
It was the summer Ange Postecoglou left Celtic for Tottenham Hotspur, and then Brendan Rodgers made a surprise return.
Many of the signings from that window haven’t just struggled, but you can call them outright flops, or players who have hardly played for one reason or another.
One of the players who arrived during that summer was Luis Palma, who joined from Aris Thessaloniki in Greece, and during that period, he has been loaned out twice, including on Monday.

Greg Taylor and Alex Valle react to Luis Palma leaving Celtic
Palma joined Olympiacos in January on a six-month loan, but they opted against bringing him back this summer, and he has now joined Lech Poznań in Poland for the 2025/26 campaign.
Another player who left Celtic this summer was Greg Taylor, with the left-back joining PAOK in Greece, and he reacted to Palma’s exit on Instagram.
Along with last season’s loan star Alex Valle, who is now at Como in Italy, they sent emojis in the comments section of his IG post when Palma’s move was confirmed.
- Taylor: ‘😍😍😍😍’
- Valle: ‘😍😍❤️’
Palma’s numbers at Celtic
One thing is for sure: Palma can’t argue too much because he has had enough chances to prove his worth, unlike winger Marco Tilio.
The Australian only played two matches, with Palma nearly earning half a century of games in the famous green and white colours.
| Club | Games | Goals | Assists |
|---|---|---|---|
| Celtic | 48 | 10 | 10 |
That includes 12 matches for Celtic last season, where he failed to score or assist, and seemed to get worse by the passing game.
That’s why it was the right call from all parties to move Palma on.
