Celtic are pushing to sign Kelechi Iheanacho on a six-month loan deal.
67 Hail Hail understands reports regarding the Sevilla hitman are indeed accurate and that Brendan Rodgers has urged the club to open a dialogue for the striker.
Iheanacho played for Rodgers during his time at Leicester City where he won the FA Cup as part of the squad in 2021.
The Nigerian frontman, 28, hit 61 goals and provided 34 assists during his time with the Foxes which spanned 232 appearances in all competitions.

Kelechi Iheanacho and David Strelec are Celtic transfer targets
It is understood the Hoops are looking to bring the player into the club this month before the window closes on Monday night on a loan with an option to buy down the line.
Iheanacho has only managed 11 matches for La Liga giants Sevilla this term and has netted three times.
Rodgers knows he needs a striker in to replace Kyogo who departed for Rennes earlier in the window.
Chris Sutton questioned the decision to sell the Japanese forward mid-season but it is a deal completed now, so Celts must act fast to ensure they are not left short for the remainder of the campaign including in the Champions League.
Bayern Munich is Celtic’s next foe in that tournament and that could be a major pull for Iheanacho who made his name at Manchester City before signing on at the King Power Stadium.
Other Celtic striker transfer options
Mathias Kvistgaarden is another striker option for Celts and he scored for Brondby in their Atlantic Cup friendly competition against FC Dallas earlier this week.
Slovan Bratislava striker David Strelec was also named as a possible target for the Scottish Premiership giants.
However his club are holding out for close to £8million this window.
Middlesbrough are also interested in the 23-year-old and sent an official bid this week.
But that was rejected due to it being short of what his club are seeking.
Club chief Robert Vittek said: “Middlesbrough sent an official offer. We reflected that it is small. We haven’t exactly defined the number, but I can say for us that the amount must be in the range of 8-10 million euros.
“David is at a great age, he is in the national team, he confirmed his high form during the fall, and we also want to benefit from that. The current situation is that unless it is an amount that we will accept, we will not let him go.”
