There has been a lot of noise around how domestic players in Scotland are treated, especially by the bigger teams in the division.

With Celtic being the top dogs of Scotland, it’s understandable that there is more limelight on them, especially the players who come through their academy.

Callum McGregor and James Forrest are the prime examples of Celtic’s success, given that they are two of the most decorated players in the club’s history.

But you wonder where the next McGregor or Forrest will come from, especially when the young players are leaving in their droves, or from their perspective, not being handed the chances they want.

Daniel Cummings was the latest to leave Celtic, as the 19-year-old has put pen to paper and signed for English Premier League side West Ham United.

Lennon Miller’s reaction to Daniel Cummings leaving Celtic for West Ham United

Lennon Miller is younger than Cummings, but their difference in game time at the senior level is night and day.

That’s because Miller is at Motherwell, and it’s far more difficult for Cummings, who made one senior appearance for Celtic, to earn those minutes and progress his football – Miller played over 3,000 minutes last term.

Either way, once Cummings’s exit was confirmed, several players, including Miller himself, posted messages in the comments section of his Instagram post.

Will Miller join Celtic?

There has been a lot of noise around Miller following his breakthrough campaign last season, and a lot of top clubs are keen on his talents.

Celtic are one of the interested sides, but as his dad, Lee Miller, pointed out, ‘nothing has happened yet’, and his next move needs to be one that furthers his development.

In other words, Miller needs to be playing on a regular basis, and could Brendan Rodgers provide that with the midfielders he has to choose from at Celtic Park?
