Celtic’s first major exit of the window has been confirmed.

It has been a pretty busy 2025 summer transfer window for Celtic, with the likes of Kieran Tierney returning and Greg Taylor heading the other way.

Those deals were expected. But Celtic selling Nicolas Kuhn wasn’t on the cards, and the winger has now moved on.

Kuhn has joined Como in Serie A. They were promoted to Italy’s top tier last season under Cesc Fabregas, and they secured a top ten finish as they now push for Europe.

And Kuhn is one of their statement signings of the window.

What did Nicolas Kuhn say after leaving Celtic and signing for Como?

Kuhn’s call to leave Celtic and join Como has been a talking point, but that’s always the case when a first-team player leaves.

What is interesting here is what the German has had to say now that he has left, especially the fact that it was an ‘easy decision’ to move on.

Speaking to Como’s website, Kuhn stated: “I’m really excited to be here. I had a long chat with the coach and I can’t wait to get out on the pitch, familiarise myself with the stadium and play in front of our fans.

“The decision was easy: the project is ambitious, and I want to be part of it, doing my best to help the team grow and achieve increasingly important goals. The city is beautiful — a real film set! I’m happy to start this new adventure in such a beautiful place.”

Celtic fans react to Kuhn’s comments

Those comments from Kuhn have drawn an interesting reaction from the Celtic supporters, with several fans happy that he has gone, especially with what he has had to say.

But whilst some are annoyed, others wanted to point out that he isn’t a boyhood Celtic fan or understands the club like those who grew up in Glasgow.

Either way, Kuhn’s choice of words have divided opinion on social media.

@GbhoyDownUnder saw the funny side: ‘No wonder, place is stunning.’

@lubohenke1967 with a key point: ‘Indeed, no surprise there, surely. We love our club, the majority of the playing staff, just passing through.’

This Celtic fan didn’t hold back about Kuhn, as @alandevlin67 added: ‘No European football, no ambition, simple.’

@Murry4Murry questioned Kuhn’s long-term success: ‘It’ll be interesting to see how he gets on, but I won’t be holding my breath. He was here now, he’s gone ta ta.’

@atp_celtic thinks Celtic did the right thing: ‘Sounds like it was the right thing to move him on. Good bit of business for one really good 1/2 season. Let’s get the replacement in.’

@brianflynn2 with a sarcastic response: ‘Be Interesting to see how he gets on at the giants of Como.’

@moximc questioned the relationship between the Celtic fans and Kuhn: ‘You could tell he never liked us that much. I don’t think he forgave the fans for wanting him ditched in the summer after the bad start.’

Another Celtic fan who thinks it was a good deal all round, as @William73597552 added: ‘A good deal for him and a good deal for us. Let’s move on.’

This Celtic fan made an interesting point, as @rileyissneaky added: ‘you’re telling me a player who never grew up a Celtic fan didn’t have to think much before moving to a place with much nicer weather, triple his wages in a more challenging league? I, for one, am shocked at this.’

@footybhoy wanted to make things clear: ‘Every player says this – it’s a shame because it’s Como. You say that when you move to a big club. Como might pay better, but it isn’t a bigger club than Celtic, and never will be.’

@lukepbhoy had a message for the ‘angry’ Celtic fans: ‘If you’re angry at this statement, you need to grow up. Literally every player Celtic signs says this exact thing and we lap it up every time.’
