Sebastian Tounekti, as it stands, is Celtic’s only transfer deadline day signing.

Tounekti agreed to join Celtic yesterday evening after the Parkhead club’s third bid of £5.2m was accepted by Hammarby.

Celtic could still land Kelechi Iheanacho with talks expected to resume with the 28-year-old striker tomorrow.

However, was Celtic’s move for Tounekti a panic buy in the dying embers of transfer deadline day?

The new Celtic winger reveals all in his first words as a Hoops player.

Sebastian Tounekti reveals Celtic have been interested ‘for a long time’

Tounekti looked very happy to be at Celtic as he took in media duties last night as he shared just how long he’s known about the Parkhead club’s interest in him.

Tounekti told Celtic TV, “No, it’s an amazing feeling. It’s been, as you said, some crazy days, but just really happy to be here and then to call me a Celtic player, I’m really happy for it.

“I’ve known about the interest for a long time, but yeah, as you said, I played yesterday for Hammarby and everything was so fast.

“But when I heard it was a possibility, I was ready, and now I’m a Celtic player, so I’m just very happy to be here.”

Sebastian Tounekti gives off Jota vibes as he tells Celtic fans what to expect this season

So what sort of player can Celtic fans expect when they go and see Tounekti for the first time this season? The Tunisian explains his style of play.

Tounekti continued, “I’m a typical dribbler and like to attack. I don’t like to pass back when I have the chance to attack.

“If it’s one or two players, I like to take on players and try to make something happen and, of course, try to produce goals and assist because at the end of the day it’s about winning games.

“So yeah, I’m looking forward to helping the team.”

Tounekti speaks really well and it seems that he is very confident in his ability to deliver for Celtic.
