Well, it appears that Kasper Dolberg’s potential move to Celtic could be all but over.
We told this afternoon how Dolberg rejected Celtic as Dutch Eredivisie side Ajax enter the race for the Denmark international.
Dolberg appears to have been Celtic’s number one transfer target as Brendan Rodgers looks to sign that elusive striker who can add quality to the Hoops front line.
And as Celtic fans lament the possibility of losing Dolberg to Ajax, 67 Hail Hail spoke to Graeme Bailey to find out why the Dutch side left it late to make their move.

Ajax ‘have come in strong’ for Celtic target Kasper Dolberg
As every Celtic fan knows, Dolberg made his name at Ajax where he won the domestic treble with the Dutch club.
Dolberg also reached the Europa League final in 2017, losing to Manchester United 2-0 in the Friends Arena in Sweden.
So to get the lowdown on why Ajax waited until this afternoon to make their move, Bailey told 67 Hail Hail, “Spoke to someone who knows the player – seems that Ajax have come in strong – he is being lined up to replace [Bryan] Brobbey…”
The BBC reports that Sunderland’s £21m move for Bryan Bobbey has sparked Ajax’s interest in Dolberg’s return.
As for the player, a return to the club where he was adored appears to be too much to turn down for the 27-year-old striker.
Celtic target former £11m Premier League striker
Celtic appear to have another striker on their radar as the hunt for a new forward eludes Brendan Rodgers.
Strasbourg striker Sekou Mara is said to be one Celtic are targeting for a loan move as the transfer deadline day clock ticks down.
However, Mara scored just three goals at his previous club Southampton before he moved to Ligue 1 so it’s not exactly a signing that screams prolific to the fans should Celtic make it happen before 11pm tonight.
