Luis Palma has been enjoying his loan stint at Olympiacos this season.

The Celtic winger moved to Greece in February amid transfer interest in Palma from MLS clubs. It was a move the player wanted as his game time was limited under Brendan Rodgers.

Palma has managed eight appearances for the Greek giants and scored once with one assist also to his name so far.

The loan from Celtic also is believed to include a future fee that Olympiacos can pay to land him permanently, but it is not yet known if the club hope to trigger that to extend his stay.

Palma himself isn’t sure what might be next for him beyond this stint as he explained how he understands he is still contracted at Celtic Park.

Luis Palma’s Celtic and Olympiacos futures are all up in the air

And if nothing can be figured out or agreed between the two clubs later this year, Palma will be happy to be heading back to Glasgow as he is “grateful” to the club.

“I’m still with them [Celtic],” he told Diario La Prensa.

“As long as there’s no transfer, I’ll continue to be grateful to Celtic, but it’s time to defend Olympiacos.”

Palma showed Celtic what they’re missing last week as he hit the goals trail for his national side, Honduras, in the CONCACAF Gold Cup qualification.

He also chipped in with an assist in the same game as his side dramatically beat Bermuda 5-3 in what was a thrilling 90 minutes or so of action.

Palma clearly still keeps an eye on his parent club as was proven to be the case when he posted a social media note to Alex Valle via his Instagram page.

The former Hoops loan star earned his first Spain under-21s caps against Czech Republic and Germany in recent weeks.

And his old Parkhead pal made sure to compliment him, saying: “You are very good, dude.”
