Alex Valle Celtic exit domino set to fall as Serie A side gain Barcelona green light for swoop

Celtic could be set to bid an early farewell to loan player Alex Valle this window.

The Spaniard joined in the summer from Barcelona as Brendan Rodgers looked to challenge first choice left-back Greg Taylor.

Valle developed a special affection for Celtic and the Spaniard even dropped an interesting message for Hoops fans on social media in a “see you next year” clue about his future.

That was, of course, before Kieran Tierney emerged as a Celtic target for a remarkable return with Rodgers keen to land his former player on a pre-contract before a possible loan may be agreed upon this month.

It means Valle will be allowed to leave the club to ensure he continues his progression elsewhere and a Serie A side have become the number one suitors.

How Kieran Tierney’s Celtic comeback affects Valle

Cesc Fabregas’ Como are interested in Valle in a deal transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claimed this week was in the works should the Tierney deal get over the line.

Now, according to Marca, Valle’s parent club Barca have given the green light to Como to sign their player, 20, who will in all likelihood continue his career in Italy.

Barcelona have already been contacted by Como and they have agreed that a move under Fabregas would be an ideal scenario and place for their youngster to play his football this season.

It all hinges now on Tierney finalising his move back to Celtic after Rodgers was told to sign “top of the tree” defender in January.

Arsenal took an unnecessary risk with Celtic target Tierney

Arsenal told the player they would not be taking up the option of another year in his contract and would not renew his deal to keep him at the Emirates.

Manager Mikel Arteta, however, still put his move to Celtic in jeopardy by giving him minutes very late into extra-time against Manchester United in the FA Cup.

Tierney’s stats at the Gunners has made fools of his critics in recent times.

Valle, meanwhile, will always be remembered for his stunning assist vs St Johnstone back in September.
