Forget Tomas Cvancara, these two Celtic players have to start against Hearts

Make no bones about it, this weekend is Celtic’s biggest game in years.

The Hoops face Hearts at Tynecastle in a showdown that could pretty much decide where the Scottish Premiership title ends up.

Martin O’Neill has won more points than any other Celtic manager this season and another three on the board would leave them breathing down the leaders neck.

Derek McInnes is trying to avoid any panic after learning that he will be without three of his key players due to suspension and injuries while the Hoops have a new forward in Tomas Cvancara to select from.

Cvancara will almost certainly start, but there are two other names that should be named in the XI.

Julian Araujo and Benjamin Nygren must start against Hearts

Celtic’s interim manager will have some tough calls to make after watching his side play over an hour with just 10 men against Bologna.

Reo Hatate’s red card gave the Bhoys an almighty task and he is one of those who must make way and drop to the bench.

67 Hail Hail fans want Hatate dropped too and the most likely option to replace him is top scorer Benjamin Nygren.

A more difficult decision is swapping Colby Donovan out for Julian Araujo. Donovan was excellent in the Europa League tie in midweek but after the shift he put in, he will need a rest.

Araujo has quietly impressed since joining on loan from Bournemouth, already registering one assist, and deserves to get the nod.

Callum’s Celtic starting XI to face Hearts

The rest of the side sort of picks itself for the huge clash this weekend, with Sebastian Tounekti the only other starter to be dropped to the bench.

Man of the match performer Auston Trusty will be at centre-back next to Liam Scales, with Kieran Tierney at left-back in front of goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

Arne Engels and Callum McGregor are at the base of the midfield, allowing Nygren to be ever so slightly further forward.

Starting Cvancara on his debut allows Daizen Maeda to return to his preferred position of left wing and Hyunjun Yang on the right.
