The morning after the night before for Celtic as many will still be feeling sore from that Champions League heartache.
Brendan Rodgers has made so much progress with Celtic in Europe this season and it has been proven by the team reaching the knockout stages.
When the champions of Scotland headed to Bavaria on Tuesday, with a 2-1 deficit, it was expected that Vincent Kompany’s side would secure a comfortable win, but it was far from that.
Bayern Munich left it late to beat Celtic and it required a stoppage-time Alphonso Davies goal for the Bhoys to crash out.
Many thought that, if Rodgers’ side were going to do some serious damage or stand a chance of causing an upset, then most of their work would be done at Celtic Park.
But it was the opposite, as the performance at the Allianz Arena proved.

Leon Goretzka defends Celtic after Bayern Munich progress in the Champions League
It was Michael Olise’s cross in stoppage time that was headed towards goal by Leon Goretzka and his initial effort was saved by Man of the Match, Kasper Schmeichel.

Given that Celtic deserved to win the second leg and, at the very least, should have taken the tie to extra time, it was suggested that their performance was a ‘surprise’.
But Goretzka told Bayern Munich’s official website that wasn’t the case because Celtic are a ‘really top team’, especially when you look back at the first leg.
“I don’t know if it was that surprising when you look at the first leg,” said Goretzka.
“We played against a really top team. Of course, we could have made it a bit easier on ourselves, had we not conceded that goal.
“But these three games over the last six days have simply been about getting the results and we’ve done that. So, for that reason, we’re very happy.”
The Treble is still on for Celtic
Rodgers knows how to win a Treble on the domestic stage more than anyone else and now these performances in Europe prove that it should be delivered again.
Celtic are walking away with the title and hold a 13-point lead at the top of the Premiership table.
