Now that Celtic are about to make their fourth summer signing, it seems that Brendan Rodgers’ demands for quality players are now being delivered by the board.

Viljami Sinisalo and Kasper Schmeichel have been brought in to replace former fan favourite, Joe Hart and Brendan Rodgers has also oversaw the return of Paulo Bernardo from Benfica after a successful loan spell at Celtic last season.

And now, it seems the Celtic boss is also getting Adam Idah after a £9.5m deal was struck with Norwich City last night.

So as Rodgers cranks up the transfer business, Alistair Johnston has shared how the Celtic dressing room feels about the Hoops boss’ demands to add better players to his squad.

Johnston says Celtic teammates are not ‘too stressed’ about transfer talk

With Rodgers looking to add more players to his Celtic team, it would be reasonable to think that some of the players might be fearful of their place in the team.

However, it seems that is not the case and that the Celtic dressing is fairly relaxed as Rodgers continues to add new faces to the squad.

Johnston said [Daily Record], “It’s a tough one because I believe in everyone in that locker room right now.

“I think that we have a really strong squad, but at the same time you know what the gaffer wants to bring in. I think he’s been pretty vocal about that, and anyone that can come in and help push this team is going to be welcomed as well with open arms.

“There are plenty of players we saw last year who came in and helped push us on. At the same time, I don’t think any of us are too stressed about that. We’ve got a pretty strong squad right now, and I think the results show that.

“It’s a very similar 11 to what we were rolling out last year that went and did a Double. If we can just build on our performances, which I think we can, with an extra year under our belt, I think we’ll be in a really good place no matter who comes in.”

Celtic have more transfer work to do

The addition of Adam Idah will be welcomed by the Celtic support when the deal is officially concluded.

However, as we all know, there is still some work that needs to be done. A left-back is needed to provide competition for Greg Taylor.

It could also be argued that a centre-back is a must despite the impressive form of Liam Scales over the last twelve months.

Maik Nawrocki and Gustaf Lagerbielke are clearly not a part of Brendan Rodgers’ plans and with Bosun Lawal now at Stoke City, Celtic are now short in that area.

Matt O’Riley’s Celtic future is also in the balance with Atalanta and Brighton making moves to sign the Hoops hero.

So whilst the return of Idah is a welcome piece of news, Brendan Rodgers still has much work to do to ensure Celtic are suitably strengthened before the transfer window closes next month.
