Celtic should have wrapped up the Premiership title by now, but they are just making life very difficult for themselves.
Even with a possible Treble looming for Celtic, the fans and the manager are still picking out the detailed negatives, so the absolutely high standards of recent times aren’t dropped.
That’s why Celtic have been so dominant in recent times, pushing for title number 55, and more trophies under Rodgers’ stewardship.
All that while, Barry Ferguson’s Rangers continue to struggle, and you wonder if he is another manager Rodgers will see off because it has become the norm over his two spells.
After Rangers celebrated like they won the title after beating Celtic a few weeks back, normal service has resumed because they continue to drop points and lose games.
Rangers were beaten by Hibernian at Ibrox on Saturday – their fifth straight loss on home soil, and Ferguson was starting to see the light.

Barry Ferguson is starting to see the reality with Rangers players amid ‘Celtic games’ claim
Yes, Celtic have been off it of late, but the truth of the matter is, time and time again, they have produced in the league and got the job done.
That’s why another title is being delivered, but the same can’t be said for Rangers, who, every few months, either get hyped up over a win or some form of boost when bringing in a new manager.
But, despite Ferguson’s cries and how ‘I don’t get it’ over Rangers’ performances, he verbally battered his players for doing the easy thing of ‘getting up’ for Celtic matches, as broadcast on Go Radio.
“Worse than disappointed,” said Ferguson. “God, where do I start? How long have we got? Spent a bit of time in the dressing room. A few home truths were told. And Hibs deserved to win, that’s just me being straight.
“That’s not a Rangers team. Miles from being a Rangers team. This is your bread and butter. I have said it. I feel like I am repeating myself.
“European games and Celtic games are the easiest games to get up for. These are the games that these group of players struggle with. It was evident against Hibernian.
“We started good, again, another mistake. Go into our shells. Feel sorry for each other. Come back out after ten minutes. Finish okay. Second half, I demand a lot more from them, and I don’t get it.”
Celtic’s title party at Pittodrie and Aberdeen?
Sky Sports don’t usually broadcast home games for the two Glasgow sides – only away matches and when they are playing one another.
But, on Saturday lunchtime, Sky will broadcast Celtic’s home clash against Kilmarnock, where the team can and should edge closer to the title.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 1 | 32 | 25 | 3 | 4 | 92 | 21 | 71 | 78 | |
| 2 | 32 | 20 | 5 | 7 | 66 | 33 | 33 | 65 | |
| 3 | 32 | 13 | 11 | 8 | 50 | 41 | 9 | 50 | |
| 4 | 32 | 14 | 7 | 11 | 43 | 47 | -4 | 49 |
Earn those three points, then sit back on Sunday afternoon to watch Rangers travel to Pittodrie to take on Aberdeen.
If Rangers lose that, then Celtic would have wrapped up a fourth consecutive Premiership crown, as well as title number 55.
