Dark clouds are hovering over Celtic right now.
That’s usually not a good look, but Brendan Rodgers, who has had two trophy-laden spells at Celtic, needs to sort it out.
On Sunday, Celtic were beaten at Dundee to remain five points behind surprise leaders Hearts in the Premiership table, as Rodgers comes under fire.
There has been a lot of off-field noise involving Rodgers, Celtic, the board and the fans this term, and Peter Martin thinks there is an ‘easy way out’ for the Irishman.

The ‘easy way out’ for Brendan Rodgers is to be ‘sacked’ at Celtic
To put it simply, in one corner, you have Rodgers, and in the other corner, there are the Celtic board members.
PLZ Soccer presenter Martin thinks, if Rodgers is booted out by the powers that be, then he can ‘control the narrative’ around his situation at the club.
But Martin doesn’t think that will happen, and instead, the Celtic board are going to ‘ride out the storm’ with Rodgers until his contract runs down at the end of the campaign.
“The easy way out for Rodgers is to be sacked,” claimed Martin on social media. “So, he can control the narrative.
“But the Celtic board have no excuses. They will dig in and try and ride out the storm.”
Rodgers’ Celtic contract
It has probably never been more obvious that Rodgers will leave at the end of the season, and that isn’t a good look for anyone.
If the champions of Scotland don’t get their act together on the field of play, then it will only intensify the mood-sapping atmosphere around the place.
But with the recent meeting between fans and the board just making matters worse, if Rodgers pens a new deal, it will be a bigger shock than him leaving.
