The rumour Peter Martin shared about Celtic allegedly looking to sack Wilfried Nancy did not go down well at the club.
Celtic ‘sources’ denied the rumour and it seems that the PR department at the club have contacted the journalist to chastise Martin about it.
The PLZ man tweeted that Celtic are in ‘discussions’ with Nancy after the Wednesday night Tannadice defeat to Dundee United looked like it was the last straw for the Parkhead board.

Peter Martin shares the Brendan Rodgers reason he is banned by Celtic after ‘sarcastic’ Nancy phone call
Martin was absolutely adamant that Celtic did have talks with Nancy and it appears he has touched a nerve with people at the club.
The journalist has revealed a phone call from Celtic’s PR team in which Martin then shared the real reason why he’s banned from Parkhead by the club.
Martin told PLZ Soccer, “The other thing, obviously, I want to point out, which is something that I can take on the chin any day of the week, I did get a call from Celtic to say it didn’t happen, which is fine, and he said rather sarcastically to me, ‘I know how you like to get your facts right’.
“I will say that the last time I had a conversation with that certain PR person, it was that I got my facts right with Brendan Rodgers, and that’s why I was barred.
“Our company was barred because of our column on Brendan Rodgers, which again, when you consider what’s happened, we were completely vindicated by it, and again yesterday, apparently, one of the PR people again had a go at me.”
What Peter Martin has said about Brendan Rodgers and Celtic
It seems that Martin’s criticism of Celtic and Rodgers didn’t go down well either with the club but it seems he’s only calling it as he sees it.
In October, addressing Rodgers’ Honda Civic comments, Martin said, “Spin it any way you want, that’s Brendan having a go in typical Brendan fashion, about the fact that they didn’t give him the keys to the Ferrari to be able to go and play the football that he wants.
“So you know exactly where he’s going with that. There comes the classic Match of the Day interview, just to let everyone in the English Premier League know: ‘I’m here, I’m available, I haven’t gone away. I’m not going to be at Celtic next season. I’m ready for you.’
Poll: Do you have faith in the Celtic board?
“Honestly, you could write a book on the amount of times that has happened. Down there, English press, lovely. Because they don’t like the Scottish press, we’ll give you that. You’ll do it strategically, and by the time you get to May, he’ll be off.
“My gut feeling is that if this turgid football continues, the Celtic fans will go ‘wait a minute, you’re to blame.’ And the board will sack him. And if they sacked him, I think it would suit him.”
This isn’t the reason why Celtic banned Martin but it does show the level of dislike the club has whenever someone in the media says something they don’t like.
