This is the start of Celtic fans’ protests.

On Sunday, during Celtic’s win over Kilmarnock, those paying for their tickets opted to enter the Rugby Park stands in the 12th minute.

This was the Celtic fans’ first visual message to the board since the 2025 summer transfer window closed, that Saturday night statement was released and Brendan Rodgers’ box office press conference.

Whilst the Celtic fans’ actions in the 12th minute made the headlines, Ian Crocker and James McFadden noticed another message that was displayed during the game that some may have missed.

Further Celtic protests after the 12th-minute message

Just before half-time, with the game requiring a spark, and it being played in a flat tempo, Sky Sports’ lead commentator Ian Crocker noticed the away supporters bringing out another banner aimed at the board.

The message read ‘football without fans is nothing’, as Crocker stated that the supporters are ‘making their feelings known to the club and the board.’

McFadden was on co-commentary, and with Celtic board members present, he stated that the message is ‘certainly’ getting through now, as he told Sky Sports Football (14/09/25).

“Football without fans is nothing,” said Crocker in the 40th minute of the game. “The latest Celtic banner to appear, as they make their feelings known to the club and the board.”

McFadden: “I think, if they didn’t know already, they are certainly getting the message today from the Celtic fans.”

Celtic’s upcoming fixtures

The Celtic board are lucky that there isn’t a home game until the end of the month, but that simply delays the inevitable.

Whilst supporters will continue to voice their anger on the road, they will get their chance to send the loudest message for the next home game.
