Celtic’s relentless start to the season has the fans absolutely buzzing but for former Rangers hero, Ally McCoist, it’s been a painful watch.
Celtic have dominated Rangers over all competitions for the majority of the last 24 years but this season and last, Brendan Rodgers has remained unbeaten against Philippe Clement’s side.
Celtic beat Rangers in the Scottish Cup final a couple of months after ripping the Ibrox club’s league title dreams away from them and the Hoops boss has continued to deliver more pain to Rangers after beating them at Ibrox in the first Glasgow Derby of the season.
Speaking to Neil Lennon, former Rangers striker, Ally McCoist said he wanted to speak to his old dugout adversary about Celtic despite admitting that it pains him to do so.

McCoist said on talkSPORT, “Lenny, I want to ask you about Celtic as much as it’s going to destroy me.
“Unstoppable at the moment mate, I’ve got to say. I thought the Brugge game was maybe a little bit of a reminder, but the game against Leipzig is as good as I’ve seen Celtic at home in Europe for a long, long time.”
Lennon replied, “The second half against Leipzig, Celtic were terrific. That’s the best I’ve seen them in Europe for a long time.
“And then Brugge, I thought, were very, very good. I thought they played very, very well and certainly deserve the least a point out of it.
“I mean, Brendan has at his disposal a squad that’s probably been the strongest in Celtic for a long, long time.
“They spent a lot of money strengthening the squad. I think that’s what he wanted. So, domestically, they’re imperious at the minute.
“They seem to be steamrollering a lot of teams and in Europe have had really good results.”

Celtic are set to face Aberdeen tomorrow night which could see the Hoops open up a seven-point gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with a game still in hand.
And pointing out Celtic’s strength, Lennon explains how Rodgers has something that Jimmy Thelin’s Aberdeen doesn’t that is crucial in the Parkhead club successfully defending their title.
“Again, that’s where the strength and depth comes in. Aberdeen played Rangers on the Wednesday and put a lot into the game and then played Celtic in the League Cup and they just couldn’t match that.
“Celtic had the luxury of resting players, and then playing a full-strength team. So, Aberdeen have done amazing.
“I mean, Jimmy Thelin has been in there and totally turned things around and they are having a great season.
“I’m really looking forward to the game. It should be a cracker.”
Celtic have faced Aberdeen once already in the league and Thelin’s side earned a 2-2 draw after coming back from two goals down. Celtic avenged that blip with a rousing win at Hampden a few weeks later.
Rodgers will be keen to avoid that scenario playing out again and is likely to field a full-strength Celtic team up at Pittodrie.
With Aberdeen slipping up in draws against Hearts and Hibs recently, the feelgood factor of an early season title challenge can be effectively wiped away if Celtic leaves the north of Scotland with all three Scottish Premiership points.
