There is another change of manager at Rangers right now, and Celtic could follow suit in the summer.
That’s if the expected happens and Brendan Rodgers leaves Celtic when his contract expires next June, as his broken relationship with the board shows no sign of repairing.
If that happens, it’s going to be interesting to see what type of names are linked with the Celtic Park hotseat.
That’s because, as Rangers look for a new coach, the names on the list, and those who are rejecting them, aren’t exactly getting the Gers fans off their seats.

Kris Boyd uses Brendan Rodgers as an example as Rangers search for a new manager
It was put forward to Kris Boyd on Sky Sports News that the managers linked with Rangers, after Steven Gerrard rejected a return to Ibrox, wouldn’t even get a gig at the English Premier League’s bottom table club, Wolves.
Whilst Boyd admitted that it’s a ‘fantasy’ for Rangers to get a big name, like a Premier League team would, because English top-tier sides ‘get £200 million straight away’ and the Glasgow duo ‘can’t compete with that.’
He wanted to point out that Celtic already have that big-name manager in their dugout in Rodgers.
“In terms of football clubs, the size of Rangers and Celtic, they are up there, in terms of the fanbase, the infrastructure, everything is there,” said Boyd.
“The Premier League clubs get £200 million from TV money right away. Rangers and Celtic can’t compete with that.
“We speak about the Champions League. Celtic had a disappointing result in the qualifying for the Champions League this year. Should Scottish teams be in the Champions League? Yeah, they should. They should be doing a lot better than they are.
“But, in terms of being able to attract managers who are potentially looking at English Premier League jobs. It’s fantasy stuff.
“At the same time, you then have to look at Brendan Rodgers at Celtic.”
Who comes in at Celtic after Rodgers?
The best news Celtic fans can get at the end of the season is wholesale changes at the boardroom level, and Rodgers signing a new contract.
But that’s looking less likely, so who will Celtic go for?
Ange Postecoglou could be booted out of Nottingham Forest sooner rather than later, so he could be a free agent next summer.
Then you have the niche roads Celtic like to go down, and you look at somebody like Kjetil Knutsen at FK Bodø/Glimt.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if Celtic went for an outside-of-the-box appointment, but what also needs to be taken into account is the 2026 World Cup next summer.
There could be a scenario where a host of managers leave their national posts, and Celtic could target them, even if they would want somebody in much earlier.
Either way, the easy thing would be for the current board to be cleared out and Rodgers to stay on.
