Rangers are doing everything in their power to stop Celtic’s dominance.
In February, the Ibrox club even resorted to desperate measures by appointing Barry Ferguson as interim manager after sacking Philippe Clement.
Fast forward to the present, and normal service has resumed because Celtic are champions of Scotland again – for the 14th time in the last 15 seasons.
Added to that, Celtic are on course for the Treble should they beat Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final on May 24.
As Rodgers has a cigar in his hand and enjoys another season of utter dominance at Scotland’s most successful club, those across the road are planning to go down an interesting road to stop the Hoops.

Simon Jordan issues Celtic warning to Rangers as they look to appoint Davide Ancelotti as manager
The name Ancelotti is legendary in the world of football, because not only was Carlo a great player, but he was even greater as a manager.
But it’s not the Real Madrid icon himself who could be taking to the dugout, but his son, Davide, and it has got people talking.
Simon Jordan fired a warning to Rangers about giving Ancelotti Jr. the job because of the obstacle called Celtic that’s in front of them, as he told talkSPORT.
“The question is, not whether Ancelotti has the chops to take a managerial responsibility,” said Jordan. “It’s whether he has the chops to overcome Celtic. That’s the debate that Rangers have to have with themselves.
“I remember, and I don’t want to put words in people’s mouths and cause controversy, as a result of it, or cause confrontation, speaking to a friend of mine, a former director of football at Tottenham Hotspur.
“He spoke of the appointment of Ancelotti at Everton, and felt that the seriousness of Ancelotti was exhibited by bringing his son into a coaching position. It wasn’t an outcome that he expected to be particularly advantageous for them.
“I am not sure, if you look at the career of this young man, I am not doubting the fact that you can come from a background as a personal fitness trainer. Mourinho came from being a translator, so let’s not get sniffy about people’s qualifications.
“But there is an element of a lot of nepotism going on here. There is a lot of jobs being given to this young man because of his father’s credentials – so Rangers, why? Why would you take this punt? Unless he is so impressive.”
The Rangers managers who have failed to stop Brendan Rodgers
Whether it’s the hilarious Pedro Caixinha or the recently departed Clement, they have all tried, tried, and tried again.
But it’s the same result. Celtic win the trophies. And Rodgers gets recognised for his efforts.
From permanent bosses, known coaches, inexperienced ones, and wacky picks. They have all tried to stop Rodgers, but he has ended up winning the title in every season he has been at the club.
Over his two spells as manager, the Irishman has picked up 11 trophies, and it’s as many men that have been in the Ibrox dugout during that time.
Rangers managers/interim bosses Rodgers has seen off over two spells as the Celtic manager:
- Mark Warburton
- Graeme Murty
- Pedro Caixinha
- Graeme Murty (x2)
- Jimmy Nicholl
- Steven Gerrard
- Michael Beale
- Steven Davis
- Philippe Clement
- Barry Ferguson
