Brendan Rodgers has been steadfast in his desire to strengthen his Celtic squad this window.

Rodgers hopes to add attacking options to his side with two wingers and a striker possible Hoops incomings in January.

Raul Moro was of interest to Celtic before the Spaniard was stretchered off for Real Valladolid which will have put an end to hopes of signing the £8.5million-rated wide man in this period, at least.

Louie Barry has been the subject of a Celtic bid but Aston Villa don’t want to sell and Michel-Ange Balikwisha continues to be a target.

Fans have been patient with the manager and his recruitment staff led by Paul Tisdale with ex-Tottenham boss David Pleat joining his staff this week.

Rodgers offers transfer update for Celtic fans

That is because the boss and his team have earned the trust of punters who, despite it now being January 19 without any signings, are waiting quietly.

They know Rodgers has his aims and the Celtic gaffer explained how the Champions League may play a part in delays to January signings around Europe.

Now, though, the Irishman has been honest with his assessment of the club’s plans before the window closes in February.

Speaking in the aftermath of Celtic’s 2-1 win over Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup yesterday evening, Rodgers was asked on Premier Sports’ coverage about what supporters can expect in the second half of the month.

And he provided a brief but optimistic update regarding what he wants in new faces while also praising the stars he already has at his disposal.

“We know exactly what we want to do [in the window],” the Irishman revealed.

“Up to this point the players have been very good but we know what we need and what we want.”

Celtic have scouted Mathias Kvistgaarden in person as the Brondby striker continues to be linked.

Mohamed Bayo is one of the more recent players to be mentioned in connection with the Scottish Premiership leaders.

And they will also be ready to sanction exits to join Stephen Welsh who left for KV Mechelen on loan as well as Odin Holm who switched to LAFC.
