Celtic’s transfer activity is done for the season and they were as busy as ever on deadline day.
Three players joined on deadline day while others headed for the exit door.
The two earlier signings, Julian Araujo and Tomas Cvancara, have impressed in their first few appearances with the Hoops and the expectation is that the others can follow suit.

Celtic’s deadline day signings
Junior Adamu – 8/10
Extra firepower was needed upfront despite the arrival of Cvancara and Junior Adamu offers that.
His goalscoring record at Freiburg is uninspiring but before that, he showed plenty of talent while at Red Bull Salzburg.
24 is still relatively young and if Martin O’Neill can instil some confidence into the forward then they will be onto a real winner.
Joel Mvuka – 6/10
One of the more stressful deals from recent memory but Celtic did get Joel Mvuka in at the end.
The deal with Mvuka looked in doubt after he reportedly failed his medical, however, Celtic were able to renegotiate the terms of the deal and sign the winger on loan.
His record at Lorient leaves a lot to be desired but he is more than likely going to be a backup option going forward.
Benjamin Arthur – 6/10
Little is known about the central defender, who has been brought in from Brentford on loan for the rest of the season.
With less than 10 career appearances, the centre-back is inexperienced but is unlikely to start unless desperately needed.
There is a sense of excitement, but the player will have to do a lot to prove himself.

Celtic’s deadline day exits
Johnny Kenny – 7/10
One of the more surprising deals on deadline day, Johnny Kenny headed to Bolton Wanderers on loan.
Kenny was wanted by Bolton in the summer but they were unable to secure a deal as Celtic saw a future for him in Glasgow.
He had a mini resurgence under O’Neill in his first stint this season but one too many missed chances and new signings have seen him fall further down the pecking order.
It feels like last chance saloon for the Republic of Ireland forward to prove he can play for the Hoops. On the other side, this is the perfect opportunity to put himself in the shop window and find a new challenge elsewhere.
Tobi Oluwayemi – 7/10
After years of service in the Celtic academy, Tobi Oluwayemi has departed permanently for Leyton Orient.
Oluwayemi spent part of this season on loan at Kilmarnock and impressed, which may have helped with him earning the move down south.
Realistically, he was never going to challenge for a spot in the Celtic side and it was best for all parties that he moved on.
Stephen Welsh – 6/10
There will be question marks about why Celtic ever made the decision to recall Stephen Welsh from Motherwell.
Welsh’s move to Motherwell was confirmed with two minutes to spare and the Bhoys thankfully had their replacement in the door beforehand.
Bringing him back for a brief period would have only soured tensions between the defender and his boyhood club.
We probably won’t see him play in the green and white again, but he deserves the chance to play football.
