Life is about taking your chances, and you sense Hyunjun Yang is doing that in the colours of Celtic.
On Sunday, Yang helped Celtic continue their chaotic rollercoaster campaign by securing their ticket to the Scottish Cup final.
Celtic beat St Mirren 6-2 in extra time after letting a 2-0 lead slip, keeping up hopes that Martin O’Neill can end his career on a high.
Yang played 83 minutes at Hampden before being replaced by Kelechi Iheanacho, but it was another positive display from a player who wasn’t expected to remain in Glasgow this term.
That’s because there was strong talk of Yang leaving last summer when Brendan Rodgers was in charge, but now the powers that be have a call to make.

How would you use Yang next season?
Should Celtic sell Hyunjun Yang in the summer?
First and foremost, Celtic don’t know who will be their manager next season, so it puts a lot of players in a spot of bother.
Whatever comes of Celtic’s chase for a domestic double this season, there needs to be clarity as soon as possible.
That way, the big calls can be made, such as the future of somebody like Yang, who you assume can fetch a few million if the Hoops were to put him up on the transfer market again.
But given Yang’s resurgence on the right flank in recent months, and Celtic’s lack of quality out wide, you wonder if he should now stay at Parkhead next season?
It’s not like the champions of Scotland have tons of options to choose from. Plus, he has been the most improved player this season and deserves another shot.
Unless stupid money is put on the table for the 23-year-old, Celtic should look to keep hold of Yang for another 12 months and see what materialises.

Celtic’s wide options for next season
Celtic’s issues in the striker department gets talked about a lot, and rightfully so, but the quality out wide isn’t something to shout about either.
James Forrest was brilliant against St Mirren, but he is 34, and you can’t rely on Celtic’s most decorated player of all time.
Then you have Jota returning from his long-term injury, and the possibility that Daizen Maeda leaves in the summer.
Either way, these are Celtic’s wide options for next season, and it doesn’t include those who are on loan.
- Daizen Maeda
- Hyunjun Yang
- Sebastian Tounekti
- James Forrest
- Callum Osmand
- Michel-Ange Balikwisha
