Wilfried Nancy makes player U-turns after Dundee United nightmare – Celtic predicted XI vs Aberdeen

Wilfried Nancy knows that if Celtic don’t beat Aberdeen then his time at Parkhead could almost certainly be up.

The Celtic manager was rumoured to be on his way out after stories broke about discussions with the Parkhead board to end his tenure prematurely.

Those rumours were rubbished by Celtic who said through club ‘sources’ in the media that they remain firmly behind Nancy.

However, if Celtic fail to beat Aberdeen this afternoon, then Nancy will surely know that sack calls will immediately be raised by the Hoops support.

So with that in mind, here is 67 Hail Hail’s predicted Celtic XI to face Aberdeen which will, hopefully, get Nancy his first win as the Parkhead gaffer.

Liam Scales returns to Celtic starting XI vs Aberdeen

Liam Scales was dropped from Wilfried Nancy’s starting XI on Celtic’s defeat to Dundee United on Wednesday night.

A back three of Ralston, Trusty and Tierney was deployed but it clearly didn’t work as Celtic struggled to contain Dundee United in a second half collapse.

Scales has been Celtic’s best defender this season and he will return to the starting XI as Nancy looks to get the win against Aberdeen to effectively safeguard his job.

But that isn’t the only change we predict the Frenchman will make as his Bhoys take on Aberdeen at Celtic Park.

Arne Engels returns to Celtic starting XI as Nancy brings more balance vs Aberdeen

It’s hard to say that balance is a thing in this Celtic team with the 3-4-3 system that Nancy adopts but we think Arne Engels will return to do just that.

The Belgian also dropped to the Celtic bench at Dundee United but Engels will return for the visit of Aberdeen.

So here is our starting XI with Nancy predicted to stick to his guns and not change his Celtic system:

Luke McCowan and Anthony Ralston both drop out and will offer reinforcements from the bench. Kenny will lead the line with Maeda and Yang as his providers.

Hatate and McGregor will marshal the centre of midfield with Bernardo and Engels supporting the attack and defence.

Hopefully, Celtic will get all three points as Nancy looks for that elusive first win to keep the fans off his back for one more week.
