Today was meant to be all about incomings for Celtic, but outgoings have been the story instead.

Hyunjun Yang’s move to Birmingham City has collapsed and the Hoops have also discovered that Ajax are set to sign Kasper Dolberg.

Adam Idah has signed for Swansea City too and with only hours of the window to go, there are hopes that Celtic can magic up some signings.

In the meantime, more departures are being finalised and one academy talent is set to move on from Celtic Park.

Motherwell to complete Stephen Welsh loan signing

Motherwell were in talks over a loan deal for Stephen Welsh as the defender looks to find a home to play regular football.

Talks have been underway and in a new update from Gordon Duncan of Sky Sports, it’s been revealed that an agreement has been made and a medical has been completed.

The 25-year-old is way down the pecking order and hasn’t even featured for the Bhoys in any competitions this season.

Welsh injured himself against Cork City in pre-season and after the emergence of Dane Murray and signing of Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, was unlikely to play for the first team.

Stephen Welsh can put himself in the shop window for a permanent move

Joining Motherwell represents a great opportunity for Welsh to show other clubs what he is capable of.

He is more than capable of playing in the Scottish Premiership and at Motherwell, he would consider himself to be one of the first names on the team sheet.

Leaving your boyhood club is never easy but everything about the move suits everyone down to a tee.

It’s a good move and one he will hopefully flourish at.
