Kyogo is definitely going to be a big loss for Celtic.

No matter which way you look at it, the Japanese star’s goals have been so vital and they will be missed.

Kyogo moved to Rennes this transfer window in a £10million deal after the striker told Brendan Rodgers he wanted to leave at the beginning of the campaign.

Whether it was for international chances, financial gains or the opportunity to play in a more competitive division, the 30-year-old leaves with the best wishes from Hoops supporters regardless of his decision.

It has, however, left Celts in a difficult position with less than a week of the window still remaining.

Mathias Kvistgaarden is one Celtic target up front while Louie Barry made a move to Hull City and signed an Aston Villa contract which put an end to that interest.

Adam Idah hit a stunning brace vs Aston Villa

Meanwhile Adam Idah stepped up with a stunning double in the Champions League against Villa last night to silence any doubters about his ability or recent form.

One man to applaud the Irishman has been his manager who has previously insisted his contributions to the season have been excellent, regardless of how many goals he has scored.

And now, following his heroics at Villa Park this week, fans have rightfully been giving Idah his flowers for two brilliant goals albeit the game ended in a 4-2 defeat.

But it is not just supporters who congratulated Idah for his strikes in the elite European competition as Celts secured a knockout playoff spot this term where they will face a glamour tie in the next round.

What Chris Sutton posted about Kyogo

Former striker Chris Sutton also took to social media in a bid to help punters forget about Kyogo and make sure they focus fully on praising Idah who deserved it.

In a sharp four-word post on his X account, Sutton jokingly posed the question: “Who needs Kyogo anyway…”

Celts were brave in their clash with Villa but found themselves two goals down very early on through a Morgan Rogers double.

Idah then struck twice in quick succession but Ollie Watkins and Rogers hit back again either side of a Watkins missed penalty from an Auston Trusty foul.
