The very latest Celtic transfers news and rumours on January 28 including updates on Tammer Bany, Sondre Ørjasæter and Kieran Tierney.

Celtic linked with Tammer Bany

Brendan Rodgers wants a striker to replace Kyogo who joined Rennes in Ligue 1 this week.

Target Louie Barry is joining Hull City on loan after Unai Emery made clear Aston Villa’s plan for the youngster.

Mathias Kvistgaarden is a long-term Hoops target who has been scouted this season but he would be on the more costly side with Eintracht Frankfurt, we understand, also keen on the Dane.

Randers FC attacker Bany is a new name supposedly on the Hoops’ radar as reports in Denmark from Tipsbladet claim Celtic have joined the “swarm” of clubs chasing the attacker.

The fee for Bany would also be affordable at around £2.2million but competition is fierce from the likes of Nantes, OH Leuven, Al Ahli of Egypt and Union Saint-Gilloise.

On Bany, club director Soren Pedersen said: “The plan is that Rasmus (Bertelsen, manager) will also have him available when we start up again.

“But it is clear that he is one of those who has been very active around, and there are still clubs that are interested.

“So, I would not say that I am 100 percent sure that he will be here when the window closes. The ambition is that he will stay.”

Ørjasæter interest ramps up

Sondre Ørjasæter has been on Celtic’s radar this window and now it’s claimed by TV2 that the club have told Sarpsborg 08 that they want to sign the wide player this month.

It could cost £7m for the Hoops to land the 21-year-old who would join Jota as a recruited winger from the January market.

His club’s director, Hampus Andersson, has explained how fans buy season tickets just to watch the player and that is why the club do not ideally want to sell.

“Our basic attitude is that we want to keep Sondre as long as possible,” he said.

“Sondre is important to us – it’s almost like people have season tickets just to see Sondre”.

Tierney Celtic return on backburner for Arsenal

Brendan Rodgers still wants Kieran Tierney back at Parkhead but he might be forced to wait.

Tierney joining Celts would likely be on a pre-contract with the chance, maybe, to bring him on loan this month.

The Gunners, though, are reportedly spending their time attempting to sell Oleksandr Zinchenko for £30m and Mikel Arteta does not want to leave himself short at left-back.

That could make the KT move difficult.
