Hayato Inamura says goodbye to Albirex Niigata ahead of Celtic transfer

It’s been known for a few days now but Hayato Inamura will be joining Celtic in just a matter of days.

Inamura is due to fly to the UK imminently and will link up with the Hoops in pre-season after he appeared in Albirex Niigata’s 4-0 loss at the weekend.

Niigata confirmed that the centre-back would be departing to join the champions of Scotland and in a final message, Inamura apologised to supporters for the ‘difficult situation’ he is leaving them in.

Callum Osmand completes Celtic move

It had all gone quiet on the Callum Osmand front for a few days but then, out of nowhere, he was unveiled by the Hoops on Monday.

Osmand revealed he spoke to Matt O’Riley before completing the move and he will now compete for the number nine position along with Adam Idah and Johnny Kenny.

The striker is expected to link up with the side for pre-season and play a role going forward.

Fenerbahce appear to have dropped Daizen Maeda interest

Daizen Maeda was wanted by Fenerbahce at the start of the window but in recent weeks, no new developments have been made public.

But, Brendan Rodgers may have been handed a boost after Jose Mourinho’s side agreed a deal to sign Jhon Duran on loan from Al Nassr.

Duran plays in the same position as Maeda and the Colombian international’s pending arrival in Turkey suggests that Maeda is no longer on their radar.

One former Celtic player is already at Como, Alex Valle, and Nicolas Kuhn has been linked with Cesc Fabregas’ side too. Now, a third player with a Celtic connection has been linked with Como.

Defender Carl Starfelt has been tipped to make a move to Como this summer from Celta Vigo and if he were to join, the Sweden international could line up against the Hoops in pre-season.

Talks have begun between Vigo and Como and are still at an early stage but it’s one to watch ahead of a potential move in the summer.
