Celtic’s transfer picture has taken on a familiar shape this summer, with several linked players sealing moves away from Parkhead.
With pre-season approaching, it leaves Celtic supporters wondering if there will be new faces in Lennoxtown as Martin O’Neill looks to defend his double next season.
So with that in mind, where does the current state of play now sit with Celtic and Marcelo Saracchi, Elias Filet and Josh Mulligan?

Celtic-linked Bobby Clark seals Derby move
Bobby Clark completed a switch to Derby County after a £6m agreement with RB Salzburg and a medical was completed this week.
Celtic had been loosely linked with the midfielder earlier in the year, but the Parkhead club now sit and watch as Clark will now ply his trade in the English Championship.
The former Liverpool youngster was once thought to be on the brink of a Celtic move, but that possible transfer is now dead in the water.
Celtic’s Elias Filet story is a familiar one
Elias Filet has already completed a move to RAAL La Louvière after Celtic failed to progress discussions after having a video call with the player’s representatives.
Even though a meeting took place, the deal didn’t happen quickly enough for Filet as he committed to join the Belgian Pro League club.
For Celtic fans, it is another familiar transfer story that has become all too common just before pre-season begins.
Marcelo Saracchi’s agent and Michael Nicholson
Marcelo Saracchi’s agent has added an awkward conversation to his player’s potential Celtic future, stating Michael Nicholson never actually submitted a permanent offer despite the Uruguayan being keen to stay in Glasgow.
The left-back has since returned to Boca Juniors, with speculation about a possible return to Celtic being ongoing for weeks now.
Saracchi was a pivotal player for Celtic in the title run-in and formed a close bond with Martin O’Neill. Whether he will return to Parkhead is anyone’s guess, but it does seem unlikely now.
Celtic and Josh Mulligan as Middlesbrough step back
Josh Mulligan offers the one positive shift in this group of stories, with Middlesbrough stepping away from the Hibs midfielder.
The good news for Celtic is this potential transfer deal has not been shut down. However, interest is high in Mulligan with West Ham waiting in the wings.
Contracted to Hibs until 2029, the Easter Road club hold all the cards here and Celtic will have to pay the going rate for the Scotland U21 international.
