Celtic know they must replace Kyogo in the January transfer window.

The striker is in Rennes to complete a £10million move from Glasgow after he arrived in France to seal the switch.

Manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed the deal is in the offing and only needs green-lit.

It is believed the boss is waiting for Jota’s agreement to be concluded before sanctioning Kyogo‘s exit, but either way, the club need at least one striker in the door before the February 3 deadline.

Aston Villa want to keep Celtic target Louie Barry

But 67 Hail Hail understands Eintracht Frankfurt also want Brondby’s hitman and that could make a Celtic move difficult.

Another option is Aston Villa’s Louie Barry who was the subject of a £5million bid from Celts as they looked for an alternative to Adam Idah up top.

The Premier League club do not want to allow Barry to leave on a permanent basis and it was claimed recently that the Villans hoped to sign the 21-year-old down on fresh terms of a new contract.

Then they would allow the youngster – who can play up front or on the left-wing – to leave on loan with numerous clubs in the English Championship monitoring the process.

That would have come as a disappointment to the Hoops but now their fears have been realised after gaffer Unai Emery addressed Barry’s future and the club’s plan for the player.

The Spaniard revealed that he does, indeed, want Barry to remain for the long-term.

What Emery has said about Louie Barry and new Aston Villa contract

And the plan is as reported.

Speaking ahead of his side’s weekend clash with West Ham – and before Celtic arrive in the Champions League on Wednesday – Emery said: “We are very happy with Barry.

“We have one plan with him and that is to extend his contract because we believe in him and then he must continue his process as a player.

“It is to go on loan and continue getting minutes, getting confidence and getting his success playing at another club. How we worked with him last year and with him now is the right way for him.”
