With all the talk of Celtic needing to add new faces to the squad, there is still work needing to be done to make sure that players who are not going to feature next season get moved on.

Brendan Rodgers has already started the ball rolling by getting Sead Haksabanovic and Hyeongyu Oh out this summer and it remains to be seen if others will join them.

However, the work doesn’t just stop there. There are also young Celtic players who need continued game-time and who need to be sent out on loan to help them become confident enough to step into the Celtic first team.

The fans have seen first-hand with Bosun Lawal the benefit of that and with moves being made by Admira Wacker to nab a couple of the Celtic youngsters after Matthew Anderson and Tobi Oluwayemi’s spell there, it seems that more youngsters might get that opportunity after the USA Tour has concluded.

So here 67 Hail Hail takes a look at three youngsters we believe could benefit from a loan move away from the club.

Ben Summers needs another temporary move

At 20, young Ben Summers is at an age where he should be looking to get into the Celtic first-team squad.

Currently, on the Stateside tour with the club, it would seem that Summers may be close to breaking into the squad.

However, with competition like Matt O’Riley, Reo Hatate and hopefully Paulo Bernardo to contend with, Summers may well find that extremely difficult this season.

Returning to the club after a season at Dunfermline where he made 20 appearances and helped them get promotion to the Championship, Summers would benefit from another loan spell to continue to grow his confidence and development in a first-team setting.

Dane Murray needs first-team football after injury hell

Young Dane Murray has had a torrid couple of years at Celtic. Injury has plagued his time at the club and after two years on and off the treatment, he has now made a full recovery.

Making an appearance in the 6-4 win over Queen’s Park, Murray looked composed and calm on the ball as well as assured in the tackle.

At 21, like Summers, the young defender now needs game time to bring him on and he is another who could benefit from a loan spell away from the spotlight of Celtic.

After signing a new two-year deal in the summer, Murray is clearly one for the future but he does need to get more experience to learn his trade on the pitch.

Josh Clarke needs time between the sticks

Josh Clarke is another youngster who is highly rated at the club and he is also another who has been taken on the US Tour.

A goalkeeper capped at U21 level for Northern Ireland, young Clarke is rarely spoken about but has spent some time on loan at Ayr United and made 12 appearances last season keeping two clean sheets.

Used as emergency cover for Airdrie as well, Clarke has shown that he is ready for first-team football but is highly unlikely to get that at Celtic.

With Viljami Sinisalo and Kasper Schmeichel now at the club, Clarke will need to get out at 19 and gain some experience elsewhere.

Celtic have a number of young prospects at the club and with Darren O’Dea appointed as the Player Pathway manager, hopes are high that the fans will now start to see some young talent make the transition from the B team to the first team in the very near future.
