The very latest Celtic transfers news and rumours on January 19 including updates on Raul Moro, Louie Barry, Kieran Tierney and Kyogo.
Raul Moro breaks injury silence
Celtic were linked with Raul Moro with the £8.5million-rated winger on the club’s January radar as Brendan Rodgers seeks two wingers and potentially a striker.
Rodgers has always wanted attacking options as he brought in last year in Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah, and one player they were watching was the Spaniard at Real Valladolid.
Sadly the 22-year-old was stretchered off in action for his club and could miss two months.
That would put paid to any move this month but now Moro has posted on his socials and said: “Everything went well, already thinking about recovery to come back as soon as possible.
“Thank you all so much for the messages of encouragement and support that I’m receiving.”
Maybe in the summer if Paul Tisdale can’t find any alternatives.
Louie Barry Aston Villa ‘preference’ amid Celtic links
Barry was reportedly subject of a £5million plus bid from Celts this window as they also face competition from clubs in France.
However, Villa’s stance has never changed on their player who hit 16 goals in 24 outings for Stockport County before he was recalled from his loan.
Villa, according to the Times, would “prefer” he sign a new contract and then go out on loan a second time but that would not suit the Hoops.
There are certainly a lot of moving parts on this potential deal.

Arsenal take no chances with Kieran Tierney’s Celtic future
Tierney is closing in on a Parkhead return and, for once, Gunners manager Mikel Arteta did not take any unnecessary risks by putting KT on the pitch vs Villa this weekend.
Arsenal threw away a two goal lead to draw 2-2 at the Emirates but Tierney remained on the bench.
Fans have been raving about Tierney this season since an exit became a realistic possibility.
Kyogo could be “exploited” in £10m sale
Atlanta are keen on Kyogo and want the Japanese striker as a new designated player outside the club’s salary cap in the MLS.
Rennes in Ligue 1 also want Kyogo and a bidding war could be triggered for the prolific striker who turns 30 this month.
If big money arrives for the player, Celts would have to seriously consider his future and now Pat Bonner feels any star at the Celts is for sale to “exploit” in the market for the right price.
Bonner said: “You definitely would love to see them get that third striker in because any big bid that comes in Celtic will be looking to see if they can exploit the players they have out there.
“And Kyogo is one of them.
“It’ll be interesting to see but with European competition coming up again in midweek, they need all their best players here.”
